Peru Relief Fund

Our organization provides emergency assistance to victims of weather disasters and those suffering in poverty around the world. Help us distribute healthy and pure drinking water and provide support services to those affected by the flash floods and mud slides in Trujillo, Peru.

Why and How We Serve

Our organization helps thousands of people locally and those suffering in poverty around the world. Beyond the distribution of material goods, Helping Hands works to build community centers that provide stability for the surrounding areas. These serve as adult skill centers (Oasis Centers), that provide adults with a place to learn new skills, empowerment, hope, and spiritual renewal to women and children.

Who we Are

Meet our board and staff.

Meet us
Helping Hands Ministries International is a nonprofit organization focused on making a difference in the nation of Peru and our local community. We accomplish our mission through the sale of donated goods at our thrift stores located in Washington State and through our valued supporters who believe in the mission of Helping Hands.

Peru Relief Efforts Underway!

Helping Hands through Amor en Acción was very fortunate to deliver water drums, “bidones” Sunday, March 19 morning. They were delivered in a small window of time when the weather allowed it. We had hoped to deliver them earlier, but it was too unsafe. Prayers are needed during this critical period of ever-growing flash floods, “huaicos“, and mud slides. Apart from the tragic casualties of bodies found in the debris, we have also heard the first report of a death due to dehydration.

Your quick response to our Peru Relief Fund is impacting a large number of families in the Victor Raul neighborhood of Trujillo. Thanks to each and every one of you! You are making it possible for the people of Trujillo to be healthy and safe despite the tragedy surrounding these flood victims.

Clean Drinking Water for the Community

Thanks to our amazing supporters and Port Gardner Rotary (led by our own Director of Operations, Jeffrey Hager), Victor Raul in Peru has its own water purifying pump that draws water from a Helping Hands built well. This is the first potable water source located in the community. Now the people don’t have to buy water from the government trucks that deliver it only once or twice each week, often at unfair prices. They can get water straight from the well anytime they need it – water tested by the City to be CLEAN and SAFE from parasites and bacteria. This is a rare gift for the local residents. They are grateful for your support and love, as are all the HHMI staff and volunteers.
